A Very wet Memorial Holiday...

We had our Hansen Memorial Day Party ! It was so much fun with LOTS of cousins and Games and yummy BBQ! We had to go with a back up plan and bring the games Inside, since it was Raining with Thunderstorms all night. The kids Played on a Blow up Obstacle Course, Basketball, Cake Walk, Jump Rope and Ring toss. It was alot of fun regardless of Bad Weather!

After all the fun activites with the Hansen Cousins, We all went to the cemetery to place flowers and flags by Parkers Grave. The kids all had Balloons to give to him and let them go into heaven. It was so Gorgeous with all the flowers everywhere for everyone and a little bit of rain started coming down. I Love talking about him to Hayes & Olivia, they say the cutest things, and all day long they were wondering when we could go see Parker in heaven. They were a little disappointed when we were at the Cemetery.
So Sweet...

Then we all went to Sonic to get Slushies and watched "National Treasure 2" {SO GOOD}
It was a Wonderful memorial Holiday...

How cute are those pictures? It made me cry. I'm sure Hayes and Olivia fill Parker with them all the time. Kids are so much more in touch with those things then we are. Happy Memorial Day!

It sounds like you guys had a great day! I wish we could have been to the party looks like it was a blast. What sweet kids you have! That is so cute they thought they were going to Heaven to see Parker. Cute idea to let the balloons go!

You did a great job in planning the Memorial Day activity! Thanks for all your hard work. It really was fun even with having to change the venue to the church.
I love going to Parker's memorial and thinking about him; about what he might be doing and if he is pleased with his family.

What a sweet way to remember Parker, I think we all at times wonder when we will be able to see our loved ones again. I love how simply yet so beautifully children bring us to remember what is important in life:) Families truly can be together forever!

So sweet! I love seeing Parker's balloons drifting heavenward... what a sweet sentiment! My boys always let their balloons go and say that they are for the kids in heaven, too. Trevan even sent a special one to Jesus, once "just in case he needed to be cheered up."

Such a darling little fam, Shan... :)

Shannon,

I found your blog from your Eat, Share, Enjoy blog, while looking for freezer friendly meals.

I hope I am not overstepping my boundaries, but I've been thinking of this post and just wanted to reach out and offer a hug from one Mom to another who both love little guys named Parker. :)

Your family is beautiful. Good luck with your sweet new addition on the way. You are very blessed.

Wow, this post tugged at my heart. I don't know much about Parker, but I do know he is loved. Your children are so sweet. The pictures of the balloons floating look so simple, yet I felt a bigger meaning whie reading your post.

xoxo~
