all Hallow's eve...

we had some extra dry ice so we had some more brew here at home!  My kids love making
up stuff to throw into the pot.

Ivy wanted in all of the action too, she loved throwing in the
 "mummy droppings" {marshmellows}

have a safe and "Happy Halloween"
i think i am more excited to hand out candy,  because we  rarely had
alot of trick or treaters at our old neighborhood.
 this will be fun.

the best part of "dry ice" is putting all the extra in my williams sonoma
container and throw it in their bath!

they love this!

it's pumpkin time...

around here.

ivy loved decorating her elmo pumpkin.
Olivia was totally into  doing it all by herself,
boston only likes to carve it {not all the yucky inside stuff} and
Hayes loved helping dad clean out all the guck from the pumpkins.

thank goodness dad does the cleaning out of the pumpkins.

so much fun!

i always love trying to figure out how to use my night setting but at the same time show
off the lit up pumpkins. ~sigh...

one day i will figure it out, but until then, i think it looks kinda spooky

on to the PLAYOFFS!!

football is NOT over for our lonepeak team!
 yahoo...
Boston and his team made it into the playoffs starting on saturday.  Our game yesterday was
pretty intense, rain and all, it was our first COLD game!

Boston played the whole game, we needed him bad!
he loved it but is definitely sore today.

we have had so much fun watching his games, and love all the support of his fans at all these games!  i'm pretty sure boston loves all that extra attention on the side lines.

this game we played was the AF 5th grade team, who rock!  Cade plays for AF but came to support his cousin and i love how he is covering up the "knights" on boston's jersey... that kid cracks us up.

Ivory Ridge halloween party

saturday we went with tasha and jill to another Halloween party!!  We played lots of games, painted pumpkins, and went on a hayride.  Right when we got done with the hayride it started raining! perfect timing...

i think that Tasha won the best adult dressed costume, she looked awesome!
The treats were yummy and why not dress up for another party!

livi/hayes/camden/carson

hayes wanted a spiderman pumpkin.

We are Drug Free...

this week at school it was "red ribbon week" where they talked about being drug free all week!  Today they got to all wear red, to show their support against drugs.  I love that my kids were so proud to wear their red ribbon on their shirts all week.

we had some good talks about it, especially with the twins.  Imagine my sweet livi
with her sweet high voice  "mom what are drugs?" ha
it's never too young to talk to them about it, i guess!

we had a door decorating contest to see who's door was best!!  Today we found out that our cousins Cam & Coop's class won first place! {they get a pizza party}  but Boston's class door came in 2nd!
i didn't even take a picture of livi's and hayes' class~ oops, i didn't help out with it. haha

it was fun to check out all the doors at the school, they were very creative!

dinner in a pumpkin

my pictures don't quite look as good as how it tasted!

we loved it.

this is our second year of trying it out... and we are becoming big fans of this meal.
we also made yummy witch finger bread sticks to go with it.{not pictured}
but the kids loved making it and we laughed when they
came out of the oven. they were awesome!

Dinner in a pumpkin

1 medium pumpkin
1 chopped onion
2 pounds ground beef
4 Tbsp soy sauce
4 Tbsp brown sugar
2can cream of chicken soup
4cups cooked BROWN rice (or you can use white…I prefer brown since it’s healthier)
2 can sliced water chestnuts drained(optional)
2 can slice mushrooms(optional)

Cut off top of pumpkin and thoroughly clean out seeds and pulp. If desired draw a face on outside of pumpkin with permanent marker or acrylic paint. (This is a great thing to let kids help you with)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large skillet cook onions and hamburger until hamburger is cooked and onions are tender.
Drain drippings. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, and soup.
Simmer 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Add cooked rice and water chestnut, and mushrooms.
Spoon mixture into cleaned out pumpkin shell.
Replace pumpkin top and place entire pumpkin with filling on a baking sheet.

Bake 1-2 hours (depending upon the size of the pumpkin) It will be done when the inside of pumpkin is tender. Put pumpkin on a plate. Remove pumpkin lid and serve meat and some of
the cooked pumpkin.

this is a picture from rhodes rolls where you can find how to make them!
enjoy!

halloween party...

at our church.

our ward had their halloween party just a bit early this year.  on October 8th!!
{i know, kinda weird, so early}  but it was so awesome!

This ward knows how to host a halloween party!

we played all sorts of games, face painting, lots of treats, and contests.  They even
made a darling spook alley for the little kids.

and it was Decorated to the Hilt!

here we are in all of our glory...
Cory is actually Batman on Halloween.  He will only dress up once! haha
 love that man!

i love that boston put together his own nerd costume
and even wrote a sign on his
back that said "kick me"

ivy is my black cat, incase you didn't notice...

some of these pics were taken on my phone and luckily my awesome neighbor
took a few with her camera

luigi {cade} & my darling little nerd.  :0

fall break...

was fabulous and absolutely beautiful!

we couldn't have asked for a better fall here in Utah.  It's seriously breathtaking, and can
i say how much i love FALL biking!!!  i can't believe we are still outside biking and
 running,  this weather ROCKS!

we went to Park City with our little family and stayed at our
favorite spot at "the canyons resort".  Our school wast out at noon on wednesday
and we headed straight to the hotel. We had a very
relaxing time, no plans just playing games and watching movies
& plenty of swimming and sitting in the steam room and sauna...morning & night!

some good family time.

on friday my friend summer and her gang came up to swim and play all night.  we went
to dinner and then came back and swam.
It was so awesome!

Boston read the book "oragami yoda" in 2 days, he loved it!  and for the rest of the trip i kept seeing these little guys everywhere!  Even when we were out to dinner.  he would figure out how to make it.
So cute!
