Easter Sunday...

I love having church at 11!  The kids had a great start to their morning with
their fun easter baskets. Lots of new spring stuff, and swimming
stuff in their baskets. and of course lots of Cadbury creme eggs!
Love all the bed head! ha!

Then we headed off in our Sunday Best.   I'm so grateful for this beautiful time of
year to reflect on the life of our Savior and for all that he has given us.
Grateful especially for his resurrection and so happy for eternal families.
What a blessing!

Happy Easter!

easter eggs!

This year for our egg coloring we got a bit creative and decided to use sharpie's
for our decorating.  It worked our great since my chickens lay brown eggs!  I bought a few
dozen of thewhite but the brown ones were just as fun, and then
of course we had to dye some just for fun.  Ivy was the one who stayed and got into it.

Alpine country club had their annual egg hunt divided by age of course.  My kids always love
this hunt because they have some eggs with stars on them and if you get that then you get a special
prize from the guy.  well 2 of my kids came back with stars on their eggs and the other 2 were crying.

no joke this child came back with ONE egg.  oh boy!  ha!

hoppy easter...

we celebrated Easter all weekend.  We had lots of parties, and
festivities to attend to on saturday so the Easter bunny came saturday morning.
Our neighborhood does an annual Easter egg hunt saturday morning
with the kids at our park.  Some eggs have an address on the inside of the egg where the kids
 go and pick out a toy or sweet prize!  {only 2 Star eggs per child}
We thought it was so awesome! Plus the weather was incredible!!
Boston decided last minute to do the hunt,
so he took a few of Ivy's and ended up winning the "Grand Prize" basket.
so hilarious how that kid always scores the goods!

all the kids got goggles, pool toys, treats and some treats... we are now ready for summer!

i love boston's "pretending to be excited" face. haha

you gotta love her pick of jammies.  oh boy!

after our neighborhood party, & lacrosse game for Boston, we went to
Alpine Country Club's Egg hunt... it was so fun!
Ivy even won a HUGE stuffed chick! ha

we ate lunch at the country club and they were handing out lots of cotton candy! yikes!!
Can you say major "Sugar High"!!

On Sunday after church we went and ate a delicous Easter dinner at Nana's and Papa's house.
Nana hid so many eggs and made it super hard for the big kids to find.
she even hid eggs with $$ in it!!

baby chicks.

Cory and i surprised the kids this Easter with baby chicks...  we couldn't help ourselves,
they're so cute!
we want 'farm fresh' eggs so we decided to go all out and do the chicken coop and all,
become our own little farmers.

they love having chickens as their own pet. haha!
it's amazing how fast they grow, they are so big now.

ivy is hilarious with them, she picks two up at a time like it's no big deal.
she has no fear. ha

we gave them the chicks the week before Easter since we wanted them to
see them little chicks, good thing we did too!

they were OVER excited to see their little chicks!

we  also colored easter eggs that night!  we tried some new ways this year and
experimented with rubberbands around the eggs before dipping them in the colors.
we think they turned out pretty cool.

hoppy easter...

after they got their bunny ears out of their baskets they kept hopping around
and singing to the tune of the song "feeling hot hot hot"
but changed it to "feeling hop hop hop."

I heard someone a while ago say that their 'easter bunny' brought Springtime!
I loved that,
so i have gone with that theme ever since.
I want my kids to know the real meaning of Easter is about Christ
and his ressurection and what a beautiful thing to know that HE has risen just
like he prophesied!  i didn't want the easter bunny to take over the holiday.

so our bunny brought all sorts of swim/sand and outside toys, hoping that spring would come soon. ;)
i love that every child of mine is totally obsessed with the Cadbury creme egg.  that is pretty much the only candy they eat in their basket.  this year they got M&M's personilized with their names on them.
they thought that was so cool...

hayes wanted me to take a picture of his finger ripstik to show how small it was next to the m&m's.

our easter sunday was wonderful, filled with family, stories of christ
and then a big easter dinner at the Taylors.

everyone looked precious in their 'easter best'
boston was off to church before i could take a group picture,
{dont worry i grabbed him right after for another shot}
I love that ivy is giving me a 'thumbs up' haha

Hansen family "egg-stravaganza"

the taylor and fowler families were in charge of our annual 'Hansen family easter party' this year!
we hid so many eggs at the hansen farm, for all different age groups! some eggs had numbers on them and you got to spin the wheel to pick your prize!  we had a yummy bbq along with plenty of side dishes and desserts.  It's always a blast with so many cousins to play with.

spring in utah is always unpredictable.  some years it is so warm and others we are still
in our winter coats.  well this year it was freezing and almost about to rain, but it
didn't stop us from having fun...

ivy looking for her easter eggs

aunt camille has the most fun and creative games for the Hansen parties!
they had a race to see who could hurry and eat the fruit by the foot the fastest, with
their hands behind their back.
when the little kids did it, i was surprised to see these kids pound their fruit by the foot!
 so funny...

then it was the adults turn, with a blindfold!! totally hilarious!
Ivy was so cute cheering on her dad, she was yelling "go daddy go, go daddy go"

left to right... {boston, randall, jaxson, alex, witney, cory, lacey}

  boston & randall

we had a surprise visitor for the kids!
olivia and ivy loved the "Easter bunny"  ivy kept waving
to her and olivia couldn't stop hugging her... she was really soft!

the partaay keeps going and going and going... haha
now onto the "pinata's"...

i love gavin and camden's face in the background.  hayes was freaking out on the pinata!
